Bio

My name is Jerri Lynn Sydes and I am entering my fifteenth year in Education.  I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Middle School Education with concentrations in Science and Social Studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1998.  While teaching in Onslow County I went back to school and added a Mathematics concentration to my licensure, and received my local endorsement as an Academically and Intellectually Gifted teacher.  While in the classroom I saw the integration of technology become the driving force for educational reform in our state.  With the implementation of North Carolina's 21st Century Goals I decided to return to school, and work towards receiving my Master's degree in Education.  In May of 2010, I graduated from East Carolina University with a Master's degree in Instructional Technology.  GO PIRATES!!!  As the Digital Learning and Teaching Facilitator at Trexler Middle and Richlands Primary schools  I want to collaborate with teachers in developing technology-rich instruction that provides students with the skills necessary for success in a globally-connected society.
